THE HISTORY OF THE SILVERFUR FAMILY

The Silverfurs first came to America in the mid-1840s from Ireland, at the height of the infamous Potato Famine. They were a family of cats who, despite being assimilated into American society as a whole, retained the old-fashioned Celtic spirit that kept them alive for many years to come. Among the most well-known of these members is the patriarch, Seamus Silverfur (1806-1910), a former country doctor who owned and operated the city's first local drug store known as the Emerald Hills Apothocary. It was a highly successful family business until they went bankrupt around 1929, when the stock market crash forced them to sell the store.

By the time the 21st century rolled around, Seamus' children and grandchildren had already spread out all across the country (with some of them going to Canada) to start families of their own. One group belonging to his third eldest grandson moved to California and set up residence in the bustling city of San Francisco, where his great-grandson Robert Silverfur (1918-1990) was born and raised. After the US entered World War II, 24-year-old Robert enlisted in the army and was deployed to Britain for his first assignment. During his time there, he met and fell in love with a young woman named Ellen Catterson, the daughter of the town's magistrate; the two were secretly wed in 1944 after a brief courtship. However, it was short-lived, as Robert was honorably discharged and sent back home without his new wife.

After the war had ended, a shipload of British war brides were brought to the US the following year. Ellen was among them and accompanying her was her one-year-old son Andrew Silverfur (1945-2009); both mother and son were happily reunited with Robert, with the new family now deciding to live in the father's hometown. The couple later had four more children: James Silverfur (1950-1985), Seamus Silverfur III (1954-), and Aisling Silverfur (1960-).

Andrew had a rather average kittenhood and adolescence. Then, while still in high school, he met and fell in love with French exchange student Helen LeChatte (1946-); before he knew it he had unwittingly followed in his father's footsteps by courting a foreign girl. He had another chance to see her again while studying abroad, although this time their relationship resulted in a surprise unwanted pregnancy, so the couple had to quietly elope to avert disaster. On the morning of July 16, 1967, Andrew and Helen became proud young parents of a healthy baby girl, christened Jennifer Marie Silverfur; she was the second Silverfur kitten to be born outside of the US (her birthplace is Paris, France) and that fact alone created numerous legal problems for the small family upon their return home four years later.

Jenny, as she was called by her family and friends, spent an early part of her kittenhood in France and then the rest of it in Los Angeles, where her parents had subsequently moved to following their graduation. At preschool and kindergarten she had been targeted by bullies for her unusual behavior; she didn't act like most normal kids her age and she often played by herself during recess. Besides that, she was naturally shy, and had a bit of trouble making friends among the other kids in her neighborhood at first. Her only "friends" according to her were books, her personal favorites being the old mystery novels that inspired her to pursue a career in criminal justice later in life. However, as she grew older and entered high school in the mid-1980s, she overcame that shyness and worked her way to becoming the first female hall monitor and class president.

Her graduation in 1988 led her to a university way out in New York City and, additionally, to true love. A chance meeting with famous feline detective Super Snooper in a subway was completely unexpected, as she had only known him from the news on TV. Despite the awkwardness of their first meeting, the two developed a close friendship, then started dating shortly after they had teamed up to solve a case involving the attempted break-in and robbery at Fort Knox. It was apparent to others that they were definitely made for each other; Snooper was seven years older than Jennifer, yet the age difference never mattered much to them. Their eventual wedding on Valentine's Day of 1991 brought together families from both sides, forging the bond that would later be known as the Silverfur-Snooper clan.

Snooper and Jenny got their first big break outside of the US when they recieved a letter, asking them to come to a small Canadian town of Evergreenville and apply for jobs as assistant detectives for Sheriff Murphy. Once they decided to move there, things were never the same; not only were they successful with their new jobs, but they also became friends with most of the citizens of the town and in the Evergreen Forest next door. Jenny would later invite her parents to come live in Evergreenville, too, so that they can be close to their daughter and son-in-law.

Their first child, Angel Marie Snooper, was born on June 6, 1993. The third Silverfur kitten after her mother and grandfather to be born outside of their original homeland, little Angel instantly became a favorite child of both towns after her birth, loved by humans and non-humans alike. Their second child Lucky Anne Snooper was born seven years later (September 16, 2000), followed closely by their third and last child Nigel Andrew Snooper (April 9, 2005). So far, only one of their elder daughters has since been married to a local of the Evergreen Forest (Angel to Pierre Raccoon in 2017) and the younger one is currently involved in a relationship with the son of French and Mexican restaurant owners.

This is wonderful Jenny, did Andrew serve in Vietnam, or did he have a medical issue and they couldn't take him. (This was the same with my grandfather Norman Hyde (March 1941 - January 5th, 2009). He had diabetes since he was 4 and they didn't draft him because of that.
